No, we do not. We do not capture (collect) funds from credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal before an item is being prepared for shipment. This means that in the case of a backorder, you will not be charged until we have received the item from our supplier and are preparing to ship it to your door.
We do authorize your payment method during the checkout process to ensure the method you provided is valid. Once we begin processing your order, we void (cancel) the authorization amount for any items that are not in stock. Until your card issuer processes this void, you may see a pending charge from us. This is typically removed within a week. We cannot do anything to speed this process up, but rest assured we did not collect any money from your payment method, regardless of whether you used a credit card, debit card, or PayPal.
If you have any issues with pending charges showing up for an item that is not in stock, please wait a week, and then contact your card issuer to ensure there is no delay on their end processing the removal of the charge.
In most cases, you can use a prepaid card the same way you'd use a credit card to pay for your order. If your transaction is declined, it is likely there is not enough on the card balance to cover the full amount of the purchase.
Due to PayPal's policies, certain items are restricted from purchase using PayPal. While we understand this may be inconvenient, our safe and secure checkout accepts a wide variety of credit and debit cards without these restrictions on purchase.

Place your order as normal on our website, and then reach out to us with proof of your tax-exempt status and order number to qaqc@opticsplanet.com. Once the paperwork is processed, the tax will either be removed or refunded.
