The backlit LED capacitive keypad is touch activated, and provides entry of the master code and features quick press to lock action when locking. Vaultek engineered a proprietary material blend to provide lightweight characteristicswith superior strength for the ultimate in impact protection. Dualside compression latchescombine with an interior rubber gasket to seal off the interior from environmental factors.LifePods are water resistant with an IP-65 environment rating, airtight, dust proof, and float inwater when loaded with up to 2lbs of weight. Powered by a 9V alkaline battery (notincluded),with a battery life of up to one year under normal use. LifePods do not require abattery tofunction as a weather resistant case, but a battery is required to enable the built-inlock system. The keypad features a battery status indicator for easy battery monitoring. An integrated micro-USB port is located beneath the front rubber cover can power the unit in theevent of a dead battery. Two backup manual keys are included, and the tumbler lock has a Key. Lock to disable the lock and prevent LifePod from being picked open.
